Privacy Policy

MyLanguageVoiceTutor is built to run almost entirely on your own device. This page explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

The short version

• There's no account, no sign-up, and no login.
• Your conversations with the AI tutor are processed on your own device's GPU and are never sent to us or to any server we control.
• Your vocabulary list and preferences (language, level, voice) are saved only in your browser's local storage — we never see them.
• We don't run advertising or sell data, because we don't collect any to sell.

What runs where

When you open the app, your browser downloads an AI language model and runs it locally using your device's GPU (via WebGPU). Everything you say or type, and everything the tutor replies, is generated on your device and stays there. We have no server that receives or logs your conversations.

What's stored, and where

The app uses your browser's local storage (not a server database) to remember, on your device only:

• Your chosen target language, native language, level, and voice settings
• A running vocabulary list of words the tutor has used

This data never leaves your browser. Clearing your browser's site data for this page, or using a different browser or device, will reset it.

Third-party requests

To load the AI model and fonts, your browser makes requests to third-party content delivery networks (for the model weights and web fonts). These providers may see standard technical information inherent to any web request (like your IP address), the same as loading images or scripts from any other website. We don't control what these providers do with that request-level data; we recommend checking their own privacy policies if you'd like details.

Hosting logs

Like virtually any website, our hosting provider may keep basic technical server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. We don't use this information to identify individuals or build profiles, and we don't currently run any analytics or tracking scripts on this site. If that changes, we'll update this page.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, since the app doesn't collect personal information at all in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
